1. The Council of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India in exercise of the powers vested under clause (a) of sub-section (2) of Section 15 of the Company Secretaries Act, 1980, as amended by the Company Secretaries (Amendment) Act, 2006 approved the new syllabus for the Executive and Professional Programmes of the Company Secretaryship Course, and decided as under:
2. The New Syllabus for Executive Programme shall comprise of Seven papers instead of six papers as at present and nine papers at Professional Programme level including one Paper to be opted by the students out of five elective papers namely,
(i) Banking Law and Practice;
(ii) Capital, Commodities and Money Market;
(iii) Insurance Law and Practice;
(iv) Intellectual Property Rights-Law and Practice; and
(v) International BusinessLaws and Practice, instead of eight papers as at present.
2.1 The new syllabus shall be applicable w.e.f. February 1, 2013 for Executive Programme and September 1, 2013 for Professional Programme.
2.2 The detailed contents for each of the seven papers of the Executive Programme & nine papers of Professional Programme including electives under the new syllabus and the switchover scheme as approved by the Council are as under:

what will happen to those students who already registered with old syllabus of executive ,, will they have to switch to new syllabus or they can continue with old syllabus is it compulsary or not ?

I THINK THATS WRONG SEVEN PAPER IN EXCUTIVE PROGRAM
I got registered before may 2012 for executive course and now will give 2nd module exam in June 2013..So can i continue with the old syllabus or i will have to switch to new syllabus??
i want to knowthat if  i am going to appear foundation exam in june.so shall i give executive in december 2013……….and can we appear for both modules together or second module first and second module afterwards
i will be giving executive xam in december 2013…do i have to switch to the new sylabus or i can continue wid the old syllabs…if i have to swith to new syllabus what abt the study mat nd all????
