The dividend by the Cental Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) is declared after the finalization, audit and adoption of their annual accounts by the Boards and subsequent approval of Shareholders in Annual General Meetings. Giving this information in written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha, Shri Praful Patel, Minister of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises, said that as this process has not yet been completed, no dividend for the year 2012-13 has been declared by the CPSEs under the Department of Heavy Industries, Ministry of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises, till March, 2013. Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has, however, declared an interim dividend of Rs. 518.89 crore for the year 2012-13. BHEL had declared final dividend amounting to Rs. 1,567 crore for the year 2011-12, Shri Patel informed the House.
