The international crude oil price of Indian Basket as computed/published today by Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas fell to US$ 101.99/barrel (bbl) on 9.05.2013. This was lower than the price of US$ 102.38/bbl prevailing on the previous trading day of 08.05.2013.
In rupee terms also, the crude oil price declined to Rs 5531.94 per bbl on 09.05.2013 as compared to Rs 5544.90 /bbl on 08.05.2013. This was due to fall in price in dollar terms though rupee depreciation eroded a part of the gains. Rupee dollar exchange rate on 09.05.2013 was Rs 54.24/US$ against Rs 54.16/US$ on previous trading day of 08.05.2013.
