In exercise of the powers conferred under sub-section (1) oof section 210 A of the Companies Act, 1956, the Central Government has constituted an Advisory Committee to be called National Advisory Committee on Accounting Standards consisting of eminent persons from the government bodies and professional institutes and confederations to advise on the formulation of accounting policies and accounting standards for adoption by Companies or class of Companies.
Members include nominees from:
1. ICAI
2. ICSI
3. ICWAI
4. RBI
5. CAG
6. CBDT
7. IIM-Kolkata
8. SEBI
9. Assocham
10. CII
11. MCA
All the above members will hold office till 31st Jan, 2012.
