Notification
G.S.R……(E), – In exercise of the powers conferred by section 21 of tie Employees’ Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act’ 1952 (19;f 1952), the central Government hereby makes the following rules further lo amend the Employees’ Provident Funds Appellate Tribunal (Procedure) Rules, 1997, namely:-
1. (1) These rules may be called the Employees’ Provident Funds Appellate Tribunal (Procedure) Amendment Rules, 2017
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the official Gazette.
2. In the Employees’ Provident Funds Appellate Tribunal (procedure) Rules, 1997, – (a) in rule 1, in sub-rule (1), the words “Employees’ Provident Funds Appellate” shall be omitted;
(b) in rule 2,-
(i) for clause (g), the following clause shall be substituted’ namely:-
‘(g) “Registrar’ means the Registrar appointed for the Tribunal or any other person authorized, by order, by the Central Government to act as Registrar for the purpose of these rules ;
(ii) tor clause (i), The following clause shall be substituted namely:-
‘ Tribunal” means the Industrial Tribunal referred to in section7 D of the Act ;
(c) in Appendix,-
(i) in FORM I, for the words “IN THE EMPLOYEES’ PROVIDENT FUNDS APPELATE TRIBUNAL”, the words ”IN THE INDUSTRIAL TRIBUNAL” shall be substituted;
(ii) in FORM II,-
(a) for the words ” Employees’ Provident Funds Appellate Tribunal”, the word “Tribunal” shall be substituted;
(b) for the letters and words “EPF Appellate Tribunal”, the words “Industrial Tribunal” shall be substituted.
