DO.No.24/CH(EC)/2017

Dated 25th August, 2017

Dear Colleagues,

As you are aware, the 2nd Rajaswa Gyan Sangam is scheduled for 1st and 2nd September, 2017. The Hon’ble Prime Minister is going to address the plenary session and Hon’ble Speaker of Lok Sabha is scheduled to address the valedictory session. Many eminent constitutional functionaries are going to grace the conference. In the light of this background, I have written a letter to all the CCs/DGs/Pr. Commissioners/Commissioners for compliance.

DGTS has already initiated the exercise to update SAMPARK and make it available on mobile platform. The mobile app will be launched during Rajaswa Gyan Sangam. Member (Admn.) has already written a letter in this regard on 22nd August, 2017. I am sure you have provided verified information to DGTS within the stipulated date mentioned in the letter.

The last date for payment of GST for month of July 2017 was extended up to today i.e. 25th August, 2017. Also for those tax payers who want to fill up TRAN-I this month, the last date for filing GSTR-3B is 28th August, 2017. In order to avoid any difficulty to the taxpayer, kindly guide the taxpayers of your Zone to make payment and fill return well before the deadlines. The letter issued by Member (GST) on 22nd August, 2017 may kindly be seen and adhered to.

I am aware that there are a few instances of procedural difficulties and system glitches hampering the transition process of GST. In this regard, I would like to request you to list out all such issues that needs Board’s intervention. You may like to go through my letter dated 23rd August, 2017 and do the needful urgently as per the indicated timelines.

As always, I am proud to inform that one of our Joint Commissioners posted in GST Hyderabad Zone has organised an exhibition “Musings on GST” which brought out the spirit of GST through cartoons. This exhibition was inaugurated by CC, GST Hyderabad Zone. My heartiest congratulations to the Joint Commissioner. I must appreciate the novel way of expression and GST outreach endeavour. This shows the complete involvement and spirit with which many of our officers are embracing GST.

I am also informed that Shri Sachin Tendulkar visited NACIN Mumbai and interacted with the officer trainees, as part of the leadership series organised by NACIN Mumbai. My heartiest congratulations to all the officers of NACIN Mumbai for organising such an interaction which is truly inspirational.

With warm wishes,

Yours sincerely,
(Vanaja N. Sarna)

To,
All officers and staff of Central Board of Excise and Customs
