The Ministry of Corporate Affairs issued a notification dated 6.08.2014 with respect to amendment in Schedule VII under the CA 2013 with respect to section 135 of the act which contains the provisions of Corporate Social Responsibility.
The Schedule VII under the act contains the terms of reference for devising the policy and the charter document for which the items have been specified in the said schedule in respect of which the CSR expenditure shall be made and 10 items have been listed therein in continuation of which the 11th item shall be inserted as under:
“Slum Area Development” which shall mean that any area declared as such by the Central Government or any state government or any other competent authority under any other law for the time being in force.
