The Company Law Bill 2012, which was to be placed in the Rajya Sabha, remains pending till the next session as the current session of the Rajya Sabha was adjourned sine die due to continuous interruptions in the proceedings on May 8. The Bill was to be placed for discussion and to be passed as a Law by the Rajya Sabha by MCA Sachin Pilot. The agenda for the past 7 days had mentioned the same. Both houses of Parliament were adjourned sine die on Wednesday, two days ahead of schedule. The Budget Session, which had started on 21st February 2013, was in recess during March 22-April 22, and was scheduled to end on May 10. However, as the second half of the session was marred by protests on the Railgate and Coalgate cases, thus failing to transact much business. The corporate community has been waiting with anxiety for the Company Bill 2012 to be enacted as a Law. Many comprehensive changes have been brought about in the bill, which is just one step closer to being called an Act.
