NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 13th September, 2017
S.O. 3019(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 17A of the General Insurance Business (Nationalisation) Act, 1972 (57 of 1972), the Central Government hereby frames the following Scheme further to amend the General Insurance (Rationalisation and Revision of Pay Scales and other Conditions of Service of Supervisory, Clerical and Subordinate Staff) Scheme, 1974, namely :—
1. (1) This Scheme may be called the General Insurance (Rationalisation and Revision of Pay Scales and other Conditions of Service of Supervisory, Clerical and Subordinate Staff) Amendment Scheme, 2017.
(2) It shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the General Insurance (Rationalisation and Revision of Pay Scales and other Conditions of Service of Supervisory, Clerical and Subordinate Staff) Scheme, 1974, in paragraph 10,—
In sub-paragraph(1) , after clause (d), the following clause shall be inserted, namely:– “(da) Paternity leave;”;
(ii) in sub-paragraph (3), in clause (b),— 3
(i) for the figures and word “240 days”, the figures and word “270 days” shall be substituted;
(ii) in the proviso, for the figures and word “240 days”, the figures and word “270 days” shall be substituted;
(iii) after sub-paragraph (6A), the following sub-paragraphs shall be inserted, namely:— “(6B) Paternity leave. –
(a) A male employee having less than two surviving children, shall be entitled to paternity leave for a period not exceeding 15 days during the confinement of his wife for childbirth, that is to say, the period commencing 15 days before, and ending 6 months after, the date of delivery of the child: Provided that the paternity leave shall be available in case of valid adoption of a child below the age of 1 year for a period not exceeding 15 days from the date of the adoption.
(b) The provision relating to leave salary under clause (a) of sub-paragraph (11) of paragraph 10 shall also apply to leave under this sub-paragraph.”.
