The Reserve Bank of India yesterday placed on its website ‘Statistical Tables Relating to Banks in India 2013-14‘ an annual publication that provides key information on banks. The volume, 69th in the series published by Reserve Bank of India, is the 94th in the series including the volumes brought out by the then Department of Statistics, Government of India. The publication provides bank-wise information on major items, such as, liabilities and assets, income and expenses, non-performing assets, financial ratios, spatial distribution of offices, number of employees and details of priority sector advances. In addition to that, this publication provides bank-wise yearly data on capital adequacy ratio (CRAR), movement of non-performing assets (NPAs) and unclaimed deposits etc. The publication also includes monthly data on some major indicators, such as, aggregate deposits, bank credit, liabilities to the banking system, assets with the banking system, investments, and sector-wise and industry-wise gross bank credit. Data are published in time series format covering a period of 10 years from 2004-05 to 2013-14. From the current year onwards, the publication will be available only in electronic form on the RBI website through the link for Database on Indian Economy (DBIE) (http://dbie.rbi.org.in).
