The Forum for Women in Leadership plans to produce 200 board ready women by the end of 2015. WILL Women on Corporate Boards have started the Board of Directors programme for the women professionals with the aim of making the women capable to act on the
corporate boards.
The Forum is also coming up with the a repository of Board certified women which will purposely serve as a reference point to find women ready to be on the corporate boards and the number of registrations have gone up to 300 in such repository.
The new Indian Companies Act, 2013 lays down the bare minimum requirement of having at least one women on the boards of the corporates and for effective and good governance model.
Such initiatives will surely held in finding Board ready women and also there is an essential requirement of having a reference point to find the women willing to take on a board of director’s role and for which there needs to be a place where people can go and can get women for the boards.
